The Tennis Missionary Daily Verse Blog

Message from Bob:  This monthly version allows you to go to the end of the month and the Australian Open players to print out and follow a daily source of encouragement for each tournament day leading up to the Finals of the Open on January 27th.  You can also follow the online edition, special message and past archives at: www.dailyverse.multiply.com or the travel blog at: www.bobkraft.multiply.com

Jan. 7 - MONDAY: Therefore...stand firm. Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully. - Corinthians 15:58
Without purpose, your life is just an experiment!

Jan. 8 - TUESDAY: A mighty man of valor - Judges 6:12
God isn't speaking to your circumstances; He is speaking to the destiny that is inside of you!

Jan. 9- WEDNESDAY: Along unfamiliar paths I (God) will guide them; I will turn darkness into light before them and make rough places smooth.  - Isaiah 42:16

Your destiny will unlock your creativity. It will open doors and bring the right people to you.

Jan. 10 - THURSDAY: If I perish, I perish. - Ester 4:16
God won't say "well done" over the money you've made or the reputation you've built. He'll only say it because you found and fulfilled His purpose.

Jan. 11- FRIDAY: I delight to do Your will, O my God. - Psalm 40:8
God's purpose always carries with it God's favor!

Jan. 12 - SATURDAY: You (God) armed me with strength for battle. - 2 Samuel 22:40
When God says, "You can," it cancels out everybody else's, "You can't."

Jan. 13 - SUNDAY: Strengthened with might by His (Christ) Spirit. - Ephesians 3:16
God longs to find people who'll believe Him.

Jan. 14 – MONDAY (Australian Open begins): I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven. - Acts 26:19
When you reach your goal - don't lose your vision.

Jan. 15 - TUESDAY (1st round): I will set no wicked thing before my eyes. - Psalm 101:3

Either you learn from his mistake or you repeat it.

Jan. 16 - WEDNESDAY (2nd round): We are changed into what we behold. - 2 Corinthians 3:18
The source that makes us strong is years of exposure to the right things!

Jan. 17 - THURSDAY (2nd round): The cravings of sinful man [and] the lust of his eyes. - 1 John 2:16
What you see becomes part of your memory bank, your frame of reference and your value system. Ultimately, it becomes the justification for the way you behave.

Jan. 18 - FRIDAY (3rd round): Who is willing to consecrate himself today to the Lord? - 1 Chronicles 29:5
That's how it is in God's Kingdom. If you try to preserve what's yours, you forfeit it, but if you put it into His hands, you'll always possess it.

Jan. 19 - SATURDAY (3rd round): But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, or with the wine which he drank. - Daniel 1:8
Great people usually aren't smarter, richer or more talented - they're just more committed. Make your commitment because it's right - not because it's easy!

Jan. 20 - SUNDAY (4th round): I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing. -Revelation 3:17
If your life is not touched by need, how can you be moved by the needs of others?

Jan. 21 - MONDAY (4th round): He (God) guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way." Psalm 25:9
Some of you reading these words right now know from painful experience what I'm speaking about. But that's a price you don't have to pay, if you'll just listen to God and follow His direction. There are only two ways: His way and yours!

Jan. 22 - TUESDAY (Quarterfinal): In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. - Proverbs 16:9
Have you been asking God for specific direction for your life? You should, for He knows the next step you need to take

Jan. 23 - WEDNESDAY (Quarterfinal): We have confidence before God and receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him. - 1 John 3:21,22
The pressure you're feeling right now is just God's way of getting you back in line.

Jan. 24 - THURSDAY (1X Men's Semifinal, Women's Semifinal): Peace I (Jesus) leave with you; My peace I give you. - John 14:27
The wonderful thing is that Christ didn't just die and leave it to you; He rose again to make sure you got it.

Jan. 25 - FRIDAY (1X Men's Semifinal): I have finished my course. - 2 Timothy 4:7
Try to visualize the finish! What will that scene be like? Will you be able to look back with joy and say the same thing? If you can, then truly, nothing else will matter!

Jan. 26 - SATURDAY (Women's Single Final): You (God) will keep us in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because we trust in You. - Isaiah 26:3
God will become your peace only when He becomes your constant focus.

Jan. 27 - SUNDAY (Men's Single Final): Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God. - Isaiah 50:10

God's character, God's faithfulness and God's power are all wrapped up in His name. So, when you pray and claim the promises in His name, you're trusting in His character, His faithfulness and His power - it's like standing on a rock!
